Two Years and a final post

So I am giving up my own blog with these final penguin pictures in favor of a new blog that I will share with my new brother when he comes Monday.

My mommy said it was important to leave my blog as mine, but it is time to expand. It is hard for her to believe how big I am getting. I can say the alphabet (though I don't like k) and I can count to ten. I find colors most challenging, but those of you who know Daddy know that he is thrilled that art school may not be in my future.

Lots of Birthday Candles

When asked what today is I say "Izzy's Birthday. Blow Out Candles!!!!" I did a lot of that today starting with a bagel along with then ice cream and cake. I also told mommy "Happy Birthday Twig!" but thankfully it looks like I won't have to share my day.

We had my birthday party today. Mommy said something about making sure I got a party before Twig comes. Here is the video of people singing to me and the candles! Thank you to everyone who came to help me celebrate.

I had fun with my friend Sydney playing at Kidville. We got to jump and get lots of energy out while our very pregnant mommies could take it easy :)
It is hard for Mommy to believe that it is time for a 23 month picture. I have come a long way since hanging next to the penguin. Now I move it all over the place :)

I also got a new baby doll recently. It is blue because I am going to have a brother soon. I love looking at the sonogram pictures of him and talking to Mommy's belly button. I share my milk and blankies with him too.

So lately we have been going to a fun color class that involves both water and then paint. It is great because it is all of the messy projects you would never want to brave if you had to clean them up. Today Izzy and her friends got a bit carried away :)

Traveling Again

I went to Wyoming with Mommy and Daddy along with Happy, Granny, Great Uncle Victor, Great Aunt Joan, Cousin Martha and J. Victor. Oscar and his parents had to stay home because he was a little too young.I got to go on TWO horse rides :)!
I also used "Giddy-up" to get Happy to give me a ride.

On the way home we stopped and spent a night in Salt Lake City. We saw cousins Andrew and Karen. We went to the State House.
For those of you who know my Mommy well you will understand this picture :)
Karen and Andrew took me to a park with this great fountain to play in!
I was so happy until we had to leave!

21 months and a trip to the Cape

We have had a busy month. We are still working on our bathroom though as we speak they are upstairs tiling so maybe it will be done soon. Mommy has also been working hard to clean out my big girl room and Daddy and Uncle Daniel are going to paint it for me this weekend. We did manage to sneak in a trip to the Cape and Boston (Mommy and Daddy went to Sara and Alan's wedding while I played with Kate and Liz during the wedding). Here we are on the boat ride to look for seals. We saw lots!I was not sure about the lobsters Mommy and Daddy had for dinner.

Cousin Oscar and Camp Hope

My big news is that I have a cousin. Cousin Oscar (Robert Lawrence Ashe IV) was born on Friday, July 16th, 2010 at 6:15 pm. He was almost 7 pounds. I got to stay with Daddy while Mommy went to Atlanta to meet him in person. I can't wait to meet him myself.

Meanwhile we have been having a good time at Camp Hope. Hope is a friend of Mommy and Daddy's who has been nice enough to let us stay with her while the bathroom upstairs is under construction. Mommy likes to sleep near the potty because Twig likes to kick her at night :) Camp Hope has a pool and we are getting to swim a lot. It is great.

I am lucky to have the best Daddy. He is wonderful and is always willing to chase me. We went strawberry picking just a few weeks ago and I had so much fun!!!! I wanted to wish him a Happy Father's Day along with my Happy and my Grandpa. I am a very lucky girl!

So Mommy came back from Texas with this great hat for her and my cute new pink cowboy boots! They were late taking my picture because we spent last weekend in Atlanta for Mommy's friend Kelley's wedding. I had a good time and then Granny came to rescue me :) It was perfect for me and Mommy and Daddy.I had fun with the hat for the picture!

A NEW HOUSE!!!!

Daddy and Uncle Daniel put my new house together last night. I got to stay up late because Edina was over playing at our house. This is my cool new house. We got to play in our PJs!!!Mommy even fits inside!
Mommy got us both to sit in the seats for about 3 seconds! It is lots of fun!

Happy Easter! Here is my pretty dress for Easter. It has bunnies on the collar.We also got to celebrate Grandpa being about to retire...Whatever that means!
I started Easter opening some fun eggs just for me.

Sixteen Months late

So Mommy took these pictures on time, but then had to have a little surgery (she is on the mend and doing just fine) but it made her late in posting. It also means that we have spent the night apart for the first time. Mommy said she had been thinking spa not hospital, but either way Daddy took good care of me and he even got help from Granny who came to play for a whole week!

A trip to Florida away from the snow :)

So Mommy, Daddy and I managed to escape all of the snow to go to Florida and meet up with my Aunt Lisa and Aunt Alex. We had a great time and I got to go to my first fair.

I got to try milking a pretend cow with Daddy.

Aunt Lisa took me on a great ride that I liked a lot.Mommy took me on my first trip on a carousel. It was fun!
We also got to try out the new hot tub for the first time. Don't worry they only put it in the mid 90s for me :) It was a great trip and a wonderful break from the snow.

SNOW!!!!

The snow started Friday night and it did not stop until Saturday evening leaving us with a lot of snow and 30+ hours without power. Here is my swing set.Here is Daddy showing you how much snow!

Happy came to visit me this week. Well really he came for a meeting but I got to see him twice. He is lots of fun and he always makes sure my hair looks good. Here he is combing it at dinner tonight. Mommy and I went back down to DC to have dinner with him. Granny is jealous he got to see me, but she is coming next month without him so it will be his turn to be jealous.

My God Family

So Mommy had gotten to meet my god sister, but I hadn't yet. I finally got to met Lexi today who likes penguins so much she was dressed in her penguin pjs as well. Aren't we cute? She is very cute and little. I can't wait until she is old enough to play. Doesn't Aunt Leah look great for just having had a baby?The daddies got in on the act too.

15 month penguin pictures

I am officially a head taller than the penguin. I am 30 and half inches in fact. I am also 24 and a half pounds and according to the doctor my growth is great! I had to have shots but otherwise I had fun with Dr. Ben who said I was "easy" because I sat on his lap happily. Why not? He is nice enough and plays games with me.

New Family and God Family

So today I have two big pieces of news to report in the order I will get to meet the news...

The first is that my god sister Alexandra Lane was born on Friday to my godparents Leah and James. They are great godparents so I am sure they will be excellent parents. Mommy thought she would be a boy, but she guessed the date right. This means I can share all my clothes :). I am excited to meet her soon. Hopefully, we will even have a picture or two.

I am also very excited because Aunt Blake and Uncle Obbie are providing me with a cousin. I will have to wait a while still to meet him or her, but I am enjoying hanging out with Aunt Blake's belly already. This is my cousin's first trip to the beach! I can't wait to show him or her the ropes. Mommy and Daddy are so happy for them.

14 months late

Mommy has been very bad about posting and we were in Atlanta when I officially reached 14 months, but Mommy and Daddy took some penguin pictures when we got home. I can drag the penguin behind me now. I am much taller than the penguin.

It is interesting to play with the penguin and please note the funny towel on Mommy's head.

I am trying to learn how to pick it up...maybe by 15 months...Oh wait that is soon thanks to late Mommy.

Some catch-up including Halloween fun for 13 months

So Mommy realized she had not posted in a while and thought she would post a few pictures. I am celebrating being 13 months today! I have not really gone further than one step though I am standing like a pro. I will do it when I am good and ready. If it is anything like standing I will wait until I am totally comfortable and then take off.
This is the pumpkin Daddy carved to look like me. It has four teeth just like I do and if you look closely it has tears...I really don't cry very much... I like to play the piano at Edina's house. It can even play itself!

Edina and I love hanging out together. Here we are swinging while Mommy rakes.

Granny even bought us matching outfits for Halloween. I have a 90th percentile head can you tell which one I am?

I love to look at books. This one is a favorite in my high chair. It is just the right size. Thank you Mrs. Stein!

All by Myself

So I have been standing ny myself for about a week, but only for short bursts and never for the camera. Today, I got a lot braver and have been standing for a bit and standing from sitting without pulling up on anything. I also took a step towards Daddy which was the first official one without support. I had to go to the doctor today and the mean nurse gave me four shots and a stuck my finger. I am doing well, but I was not happy about all of that. I weigh 22 pounds and 10 oz. and am 29 inches long. Mommy will post pictures once I am happy again :)

Swim Class

So Saturday Mommy and Daddy threw me a party and I got to eat my first cake. It was really good, but I was pretty neat and clean with it which was disappointing to Mommy and Daddy, but today..... We went to the Cheesecake Factory for my actual birthday dinner. I ate my dinner which including some chicken quesdadilla (spelling?!)...

and then they brought me an ice cream sundae complete with a candle. Once they were done singing Mommy fed me some...

and then I fed myself lots more!

It was very yummy. I LOVE ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!

I was eating ice cream at 8:20 tonight which for those of you who forget is when I officially became one. I like this birthday treat!

Mommy has been very bad about posting pictures of late. We have been busy with lots of travel and Mommy and Daddy are getting ready for my birthday :) I am excited about this birthday thing. It sounds like fun and they keep telling me I am going to get cake and that sounds yummy! I continue to like all sorts of vegetables.

I have gotten to play with my friend Edina lots. Our parents switch nights out. She likes my elephant too. (Thank you Spivys)

I got through my tests today like a real trooper and I didn't even have to be put to sleep because I napped at the right moment...at least until the phone rang. My kidneys looked so good that they settled for four pictures instead of five when I woke-up. They did fine a bit of reflux of the bladder variety so I get to take medicine and check to see if I have out grown in a year. All in all, it was not a fun day but Mommy and Daddy are relieved and very proud of how well I did.

11 months and some tests

So I have been having lots of fun, but with Mommy going back to work things have been a bit crazy. Here I am petting a turtle at Daddy's new work picnic. Two weeks ago, we got to go to Atlanta to watch Auntie Millie get married to Jon! Mommy got all dressed up, and I didn't even recognize her. Here I am with my penguin in honor of the eleventh month today. It is hard to believe I am almost a year.

Mommy and Daddy keep talking about tests I have to go have because I got sick with a UTI. They are taking me to Children's tomorrow to have the tests. They just want to make sure everything is okay. Time Travel to Wyoming

So before I got sick, we spent a great week in Wyoming with lots of family. Here I am with Mommy and Daddy. They took a picture at the same place last year (I was there too, but on the inside.) Here is three generations of Blee Women :)

Uncle Obbie is lots of fun!

We went for a hike and saw a bear so we had to turn around. I didn't even get a picture of it. I did get to put my feet in String Lake. It is a glacier lake and very cold...

We spent the first part of the week with Mommy's family. We had five course dinners every night. I was good for the most part :) I also got to wear my pajamas :) See the moose?

We went to a fun arts festival where I got to ride a saddle shaped bar stool...When do I get a real pony?

Here I am on the square in Jackson. The arch is made from elk antlers.

We spent the second part of the week with Grandma and Granddaddy. It was a wonderful trip!

Ten Months...Not my best birthday

Mommy promises there will be pictures soon including some from our trip to Wyoming. We had a great trip, but I have been keeping her busy since we got home...You see I got really sick for the first time and I have had a fever on and off since Monday. Mommy, Daddy and the doctors are hard at work figuring out what is going on and I am starting to feel better. I had to go have my finger pricked and some other stuff I really hated at the doctor today so I would say this is not my best birthday so far, but I managed to smile with the penguin. Mommy and Daddy have put in these gates in the house and they promise they are to keep me safe, but I think they are a pain.

We went shopping with Jill and Sydney yesterday. I got a new pair of jeans which Mommy had me try on, but I couldn't help feeling that I was missing something. I love shopping with Sydney...Just wait until we are walking :)

Fun with Fran and Shoshanna

We had a playdate today with Mommy's partner Fran and her granddaughter Shoshanna. We had lunch with them. I had a great time watching to see how almost five year olds act and eat. Mommy got practice holding a big girl.

Shoshanna helped me with my toy. She knew exactly which buttons to push to make it play music. She was so cool. Her baby cousin Cora is very lucky to have such a cool big cousin. I think I would like some cousins of my own.

Animals both tame and wild plus a peach

Mommy and Daddy have been working on trying to get me back to sleeping through the night which is not fun (they don't like it either), but Mommy decided it was time for a change of scenery so we went to the Zoo with Edina and Keisha on Monday. You can see the elephants behind us. Keisha is very good at driving the big stroller, but Mommy kept running us into things :). It was a nice outing for all of us.

This is my dog Catherine. She is my big sister. She is always nice to me, but doesn't love to play with me since I have been known to pullout whole handfuls of fur. She is learning that mealtimes with me are lots of fun because I drop food and leave it in the highchair. She and I are making Mommy a bit crazy because we seem to be confused about toys. I like to grab hers and she takes mine. Who knew a dog would want to carry a plastic block around?

My shirt says "Catherine's Best Friend" which I would like to be. She is definitely the most fun thing in our house including Mommy and Daddy. I love to watch her and laugh!

Mommy and Daddy are enjoying feeding me fun fruits of summer. I got to share Daddy's peach with him. I still don't have any teeth, but I am very good at gumming things.

I went for my nine month check-up yesterday. I am 20 pounds and 11 oz, 27 and half inches long and my head is 18 inches. The doctor was pleased with my progress and skills. Plus as a bonus there were no shots at all!

Nine Months

As you can see, I am way to active to make penguin pictures easy. At nine months, I can crawl easily and stand-up in my crib to greet people. I have a wonderful laugh that leaves everyone else laughing as well. Daddy had to hold me in place to make sure I didn't try to jump off the couch.

I have also learned to pull-up though I still need a helpful hand to stay that way.

I got my haircut for the second time while we were in Atlanta. Mr. Kurt is the only one who has cut my hair, but he is also the only one who has ever cut Mommy's hair. He was so nice and my haircut was free :)

I got to see my friend Sam. We had a swimming playdate and one at her house. I am very interested in other children. She showed me fun things I can do soon. She is moving to West Virginia so hopefully we can meet her and her parents in the middle and have some fun.

We also got to swim with Auntie B. Uncle Obbie also spent time with me, but he had to be careful about how much because he was taking something called the Bar.

I got to hang out with Belle who is always glad to see me. We are going to celebrate her 80th birthday soon!

There are no pictures, but I also got my first ear infection in Atlanta. At first Mommy thought I had forgotten how to sleep, because I was happy all day but very unhappy at night and naptime. After a night of my getting up 4 times Mommy trusted her gut and remembered reading on Lucy and Ellie's blog about sleep issues that came from ears (Thank you Lindsey) and called the doctor. The nice nurse said to take me to the doctor in Atlanta. We went even though Granny and others could not believe that a happy baby with no temp could be sick. The doctor there said yes I had an infection in my left ear so I started sleeping better with medicine and my old friend the carseat (Thank you Sam for lending me yours). Mommy says that Mommies have to trust their guts and always keep up with the blogs of others :). I am much better now and go in for my nine month check-up tomorrow.

I got to see both of my great grandmothers. Here I am with Great Grandmother Wood.

I got to go to a restaurant where the table was at my height. Can you believe Great Grandma can sit cross-legged still? I had a great time playing with Grandpa's hat.

He also crawled on the floor and acting like a dog...my favorite thing!

He is even fun to sit with and be calm.

Atlanta for two exciting parties

We went to Atlanta for two exciting parties. Mommy through Aunt Millie a bridal shower. I was a good girl and took a nap through almost the whole thing. I woke up in time to play with the bows. We also went for Great-Grandma Moore's (Daddy's Mommy's Mommy) 90th birthday. She is so much fun you would never guess she is 90! We had a great time and met lots of relatives.

The Mountains

We have continued our summer of travel. In July I got to go to North Carolina to see this mountain place Mommy loves so much. Mommy and Daddy and I spent three days up on the Big Ridge and it was wonderful. We did miss Sam, Nick and Angela who were coming too until Sam got sick. This is the view from the house :)! I had a great time exploring the new guest house. It made Mommy cry a little because there was lots of furniture from her grandparents that she loved. It was beautiful.

I had a great time spending weekdays with Daddy. He had just left one job to start a new one so he had a few days off in between. The new job is going really well and he gets home earlier which I like a lot.

Scotland!

We had a great time in Scotland. We got to spend quality time with Granny and Happy (even while we were missing Daddy). We got to meet lots of fun people and even some men in skirts. :)
Happy is an expert at holding me. He is very fond of me.
Granny and I bonded big time. We went to see lots of places that Mommy had been as a child. This is me with Granny at the Baxter Soup Company.
If you look very carefully you can see Mommy and I on the bridge at Cawdor Castle.
I got to ride a black sheep and got my first cashmere....A hat so it will fit for a while.
Mommy and I had a wonderful time. She says I am her perfect traveler. I got to go to lots of dinner parties (some of them were LONG.) I was a good girl and I was even happy through my first fever. I got to see a doctor who talked a bit funny, but I am better now.I went to my first zoo. The Edinburgh Zoo had lots of penguins. They even had one I could touch.

Poland Catch-up

In Poland we got to do some very neat things including visiting the Embassy where my Great Uncle Victor is. In Poland we got to spend time with family and got to slow down a bit after our very busy trip to Paris.Here I am with Great Uncle Victor. I had not seen him since I was a month old...
Here is my Cousin J. Victor. He was not sure how to hold me, but turned out to be a natural.
My Great Aunt Joan was a wonderful hostess and drove us everywhere so Mommy and Daddy didn't have to lug my carseat. She was amazing!
Here is my cousin Martha. She was lots of fun and thought I was great!
Mommy and Daddy's friend Dudley also came to visit Poland. I had lots of fun with her. We got to see some sights as well.I also had my first formal dinner party given in my honor!I enjoyed sitting at the table for a bit, but...I also got to play on the floor. It was a perfect night!

I am a day early, but I wanted to make sure and wish my Auntie B a very happy 30th birthday. We are so sorry to miss it, but will see you in just over a week. We hope you are having a great time in Texas. Mommy says, "Have a drink for me."...whatever that means!

Mommy saved this picture as fun evidence for the special occasion. This is my new favorite position. I like all fours and I can move!!!!! For the moment thankfully, I am only able to figure out moving on my belly using my hands, but now that I have figured out all fours Mommy is very worried it won't be long....Hopefully, Daddy did not listen to Mommy and the house will not be Izzy-proofed when I get home.

We are celebrating the fourth of July in Scotland. Mommy says it is a big deal, but not hear. Hopefully, Mommy will get to post a new picture of me in my red, white and blue dress once I am done napping. Mommy is very appreciative of Auntie Blake who has been helping with my blog while I am out of the country. I have been a great traveller with great patience for late dinners every night. I miss my Daddy but I have picked up some new tricks over here. Look out I am on the move...We hope everyone in the States has a wonderful and safe holiday. My first Father's Day

I made it all over Paris yesterday. I took a nap at the Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre.

I woke-up in time to see the Mona Lisa plus I got a big poop so Mommy had to take me to the infirmary to change my diaper. :) I got to ride the metro and tried to eat all of the food mommy and daddy had. I got some crumbs of Daddy's crossiant!

Eight Months a bit early

So we are a bit crazy around here so Mommy took my eight month pictures early. Enjoy...
Mommy just likes to torture me with my "baby" pictures. Here I am at eight weeks.

Here I am hanging out with my godparents Auntie Leah and Uncle James. Mommy says that in her family you often get a Jewish godmother. They are just there to look out for me and be cool people to talk to when my parents aren't. :) As you can see I have lots of fun with them. Auntie Leah was mommy's first friend in Maryland.

Mommy and Daddy had a date night. Mommy got to see her first movie in a theater since I came along...but I got to have a play date with my friend Edina. A busy couple of weeks

It has been a busy couple of weeks for all of us. I did find some time to hang out on my quilt from Auntie Leah. It is perfect for playing outside.I am really getting cuddly with Mommy.

Mommy and Daddy took me swimming when Granny was visiting.
Uncle Daniel is a pro at holding me now!
Auntie Blake flew up from Atlanta to visit me! She rocks!
Granny came too! She took care of me for a whole day while Mommy and Daddy were at work.
I also got to go to school with Mommy and all of the kids loved me. They convinced me it was time to start talking so I have started babbling and have not stopped. I am also trying to figure out how to move...Watch out!

Seven Months

I am loving my swing these days.
I got to have a play date with my friend Sydney this week in honor of both of us being seven months.
Here I am showing off what I am best at these days...Sitting. I am very stable. I am also starting to move. It is not really crawling as I roll over on my side to move, but it has Mommy scared and Daddy cheering for more.
You can see I still love the penguin and I am a happy girl. Compare seven months to seven weeks...

Mother's Day and Uncle Obbie's Graduation

We all went to Atlanta to celebrate Uncle Obbie's graduation from Law School! Yay Uncle Obbie!!!!!

I got to be with Mommy during most of the graduation. I am starting to decide that I like Mommy's and other familiar faces best.

Grandma and Granddaddy Wood were great and babysat me on Friday night so Mommy and Daddy could go out to dinner with Uncle Obbie. I got to spend lots of time with them. They are wonderful and gave me the pretty outfit I am in.Granny went with Mommy and I to Mr. Kurt's so that Mommy could get her haircut. I love snuggling with her. (Too bad Grumps was sick and had to stay away from me.)
I also got to spend time with my Grandparents-in-law, Skip and Judy. They are Auntie Blake's mommy and daddy.

Plus I got to hang out with some of my favorite Atlanta people like Auntie Millie and Uncle Jon.

The Big Apple to Celebrate

We went on my first trip to New York to celebrate with Lisa and Alex. Luckily, they love babies and kids so I got to go to all of the parties! Here I am with both of them.

We had a wonderful place to stay. They even had a bed for me. (Plus you can see how well I am doing at sitting up)This is the view from the apartment we stayed in. It had a great kitchen where I was free to eat and finger paint with my sweet potatoes.Here I am at the Top of the Rock with Daddy.

I had shots today and it was no fun, but Dr. Ben said I was perfect and now I can have whatever veggies I want. I was 18 lbs and 7 oz. and almost 26 inches (yes I shrank, but they measured wrong the last time :)). I was not happy about the shots, but seem to have gotten over it now. I did not want a picture upset so you just get words.

Here is my official six month photo taken early this morning. Mommy and Daddy have me sleeping my crib finally (I have slept in my carseat for five months) and I am causing them some trouble with what they call the transition. Anyway I was up early so Mommy got my picture.

She made me two half birthday cakes. We are going to have this one with Daddy tonight.

There was a white one for my first birthday party this afternoon. (Mommy is so sleepy her eyes are closed.)

I do not understand why I can't have cake, but I am getting much better at sweet potatoes, squash and rice cereal. We go to the doctor on Thursday to find out what else I can eat...but no cake today... Keisha and Edina helped me celebrate. Edina didn't get cake either.

Girls' Day Out

I got lots of new clothes in my new 9 month size...yes I am turning six months tomorrow, but I am advanced for my age. I also got these cool sunglasses. They are for my cool swing.

New Things

I got to ride in a cart without my carseat recently. I am moving from my infant carseat to the one that will last for years, but that means no more carrying it into stores. I am not totally sure about this, but I am working on it. I also applied for a passport recently. The people were very nice. I am looking forward to my first trip to Europe this summer :)

Sweet Potatoes

There has been all this talk about food and I was very curious. I kept opening my mouth when Mommy and Daddy were eating and grabbing at their food. Mommy and Daddy have spent lots of time talking about when to feed me and finally Daddy got Mommy to stop changing her mind. So I got to eat a little bit of rice cereal today. I am just over two weeks away from six months and I have been getting up not once, but twice a night so they decided to try it. Here I am all ready and waiting...

Mommy got to give me the first bite :) I took it in my mouth well, but didn't realize that with it being liquid I had to close my mouth to keep it in...

...so much of it ran down my chin.Daddy got a turn and I was very happy to try the whole time. Maybe more will stay in once they start to make it thicker :)

A few from Florida

Here I am having my first trip in a hot tub (Don't worry it was only about 95 degrees) I loved it!Auntie B dried me off afterwards. She is so sweet to me. Uncle Obbie is great at lifting me up and playing games with me to get me to stop fussing and Auntie B likes to talk to me and distract me with her floppy hair.

Here I am with Grumps at my very first wedding. We saw John and DJ get married and partied the night away. I got to stay up past my bed time :)

Five Months (and a week :))

I have made it to five months. Mommy had to take my picture late because we were away from the penguin in Atlanta for her spring break. This picture shows the biggest change since last month. I am very interested in the world around me. Now I am looking at the penguin. Mommy and Daddy are talking about big things to come like sleeping in my own bed and starting solids. We shall see how I like those things. I am also fussy in a new way often in the middle of the night which has them guessing that I am working on something called teeth...More pictures from our trip to come.
