Laundry and calm after a wild week

So we had a long week last week with a few questions about my blood pressure and whether I was going to need bed rest, but thankfully everything looks good now. Isabelle looked good during the whole thing. She weighed in at six pounds four ounces on Friday so she is looking to get to eight pounds easy.

We had a fun birthday party for Scott who turned 30 in the middle of the crazy week. In the end all looks good and I have just been instructed to stay off my feet and rest as much as possible. Scott has been wonderful at stepping up and doing all of the dog walking etc.

Todaywith the day off for the Jewish New Year from school, we had a calm visit to the doctor where Scott's parents got to see an ultrasound firsthand. They even got a picture of their own to take home. I have spent much of the day tackling some laundry including clothes for Izzy. It is both exciting and scary to be washing her clothes and packing my suitcase for the hospital....Three and a half more weeks!

A name for our very spoiled girl :)

This week brought a surprise shower at work. (It is always nice to show-up to what you think is a 7:30 am meeting only to be greeted with food and presents for your baby.) The shower was for both myself and Luciana who is having her second baby in just a few weeks. She teaches Spanish at McLean. Leah was once again at the head of organizing the event. She also created name signs for both of us. Which brings me to an announcement...We are naming our little one ISABELLE. We will likely call her Izzy (Scott picked that spelling :)). After much clever guessing on the part of my family and no poker face on my part, we decided to let the cat out of the bag so to speak. We welcome any positive feedback you want to give :). She is named for Isabel Bonnyman who was a wonderful woman and a first cousin of my father's along with Belle Heard who is my parents' longtime housekeeper. We put them together to arrive on the spelling.

This week also has brought an expansion to our children's library from my Wellesley friends in the form of a virtual book shower. Old classics and new favorites have been arriving all week. Who knew that Scott had never heard of The Hungry Caterpillar or Goodnight Moon? Jaime (my college roommate) was very sweet to organize the shower. We are enjoying all of the selections and reading them to Izzy already.
Overall, I have been continually reminded of how loved and supported we are in this process. That has been very helpful with the slight panic of only five weeks setting in :). We appreciate everything that people have done for us and for Isabelle and we can't wait to meet her and introduce her to all the people who already have shown their love for us and her.

Lots of activity

All of Scott's girls
Catherine (the dog) has been a bit under the weather, but is getting better.

A full view of the room. It is small but coming together.
Today's ultrasound picture.

(She is laying on her side with her face to the right and her arm reaching above and cradling her head. She measured 5 pounds and 7 oz. today.)
So as she gets bigger so do I.

We have had a busy couple of weeks with birthing class and a sweet dog who has been under the weather. She also had an ultrasound today that thankfully revealed no masses (A big relief). We have the nursery closer to ready, but there is always more to be done. We are also getting ready for Scott's 30th birthday is just over a week. We have five and a half weeks and counting. We are getting very excited.

A bed for our girl

So we got furniture delivered today which is very exciting! This is a picture of the bed made-up. We are getting both nervous and excited. We have our first birthing class this weekend. With just seven weeks to go and six weeks of work for Sally, it feels like there is a lot to be done. We are trying not to get overwhelmed and to enjoy some relaxation and anticipation of our little one.
