Happy Halloween

We have had a busy Halloween with a trip to the doctor. Granny also left which made my mommy a bit sad. She has been very helpful and lots of fun to play with, but they tell me that Grandma Wood is coming on Sunday. I am excited to meet Daddy's mom.
I will miss Granny!
Daddy likes to eat my toes!

I love the swaddle once I am in it. We can pretend that I am always this peaceful. :)

I went to the doctor again today. He was dressed up for Halloween. Daddy kept me warm while I waited to be weighed. The good news is that I have gained more than I needed to. They were so impressed, I don't have to go back until I am two months old!
I am not sure about this Halloween outfit. Luckily I have choices :) My parents sure think I am Short and Sweet!

A couple days of catch-up

We are adjusting to being home and Scott going back to work. We enjoyed a quick visit from Grumps who is very smitten with his grandaughter. Watchout if you see him he is sure to have a picture. Granny Kathy is being very helpful and keeping Izzy so that Sally can catch a nap :) Leah and Hope have come to visit and Izzy had her first bath. We are still getting adjusted, but she is wonderful and worth all of the sleepless moments.

Grumps is in love!

Granny loves me lots!

Daddy missed me at work.

I have been known to wear mommy out.

This one is going to be my first picture in a magazine because Granny wrote an article about me.

Here is my first sponge bath with mom. I was very good.

Leah was the first person from that place McLean mommy talks about.

Hope came and brought dinner and stayed to hold me.

HOME!!!!!

We have made it home today. We had a great visit from Aunt Blake who brought a surprise visitor of Uncle Obbie (my brother Robbie). It was great and they were very helpful, but they are back safely in Atlanta and we are headed to bed for a bit at least. We go to the doctor tomorrow and will hope to post some more pictures. We are expecting Uncle Daniel tomorrow along with the return of Granny Kathy with Grumps (Sally's Dad). More when we have time....

A little bit yellow

We are staying one more night in the hospital so that Sally can continue to recover from her c-section and Izzy can hopefully turn the tide on the borderline jaundice (where she is a bit yellow) numbers. She is eating like a champ which is key to getting the numbers to turn downward. We are hopeful that all of us will head home to meet Aunt Blake who is coming up for a visit tomorrow. We are sure to have picture of that event so please check back. In the meantime, here are a few more.

Going well...

We are enjoying life with Isabelle. It is not exactly what we were expecting and several times we have looked at each other and questioned what we have gotten ourselves into, but we are thoroughly in love with our little girl. She is amazing and grows and changes with every passing day.
Granny Ashe has been a big help, but we think maybe she is enjoying herself as well. She has been wonderful in helping with taking care of Catherine (the chocolate lab) as well.
Do you think mommy and daddy like me at all? P.S. Look at how far I can spread my toes?
We are still standing two days in :) or at least Scott is...We want to thank everyone for all of the good wishes. We are heading home most likely on Saturday, but possibly tomorrow. Izzy and Sally are recovering well. Tuesday was a long day, but so worth it.
Love,
Sally, Scott and Izzy

The wait is going to be over...

After much discussion of my blood pressure, they are going to induce me tomorrow :). At 39 plus weeks they are comfortable. She measured eight pounds five ounces today (plus or minus a pound).
Here is a picture of Scott putting together the swing. He will post news and pictures here as soon as possible.

Thank you for all of your love an support.

The waiting begins...

Sally had her last day of work today. She was serenaded with Happy Birthday to Isabelle with a Zero candle. The kids also gave her advice about what to do and not do as a parent. It was very amusing and sweet. Sally had mixed feelings of relief and sadness over leaving. After a tearful goodbye, we both went to the doctor. We have some more progress. We are waiting to see if Izzy makes her way out before they decide to induce her :)

Enjoying life without children while we can

We had a fun evening out with friends on the spur of the moment last night and did not make it home until after midnight...gasp! Then even Sally slept past ten this morning which has been unheard of. We are trying to enjoy some of the things that will prove difficult in the coming weeks and months. We are also enjoying getting ready. The doctor's office said Sally is no closer this week, but that we need to be ready for whenever. Sally is hoping to get through one last week of work including parent conferences before starting her leave. Friday is her last day of work if it doesn't come sooner.
Thank you for all of the support, advice and good wishes.

Isabelle...

So we are pleased to learn that Sally's Aunt Joan's middle name is also Isabelle. There are lots of wonderful name sakes we look forward to introducing our little one to.

A funny picture

Yes, my belly is taking over. Don't you love Scott taking a guess at how bad it will get?
